Installation series (1998-2003)

The first installation eddie d concidered a Still Live. On the monitor of “nature morte #1” you see a still image of a plunger stuck on a tile wall. Next to the monitor is a doorbell-button (with the name “plop”), if you push the button the plunger goes back and forth, making those particular sounds a plunger can produce and we all love so dearly.
On “nature morte #2” you see a toaster smoking, if you push the red emergency button before the monitor, the burned toast pops-up for a while, before falling back and starting to smoke again.
Nature Morte #1 is placed at eye-level, atached to a wall with the button next to it. #2 is on a wooden plinth, about 1,50 m. high, with the button on a small plinth about 1 m. in front of it.
The sound is coming from the monitors build-in loudspeakers
