Still live With Flowers

A large monitor on a pedestal shows the
still life of a vase with flowers on a colorful table-cloth.
Suddenly, the vase starts to tumble back and forth slowly, moving faster
and faster until it stops. It remains unclear what it is that makes the vase
move; possibly the movements of a visitor or maybe because she triggered
a hidden switch. This is one of the best kept secrets of d’s work. This specific
piece in the still life series was inspired by a tumbler; one of those little
clowns that always returns upright if you push it over.
